Jigg's corner, solo

Went to Jigg's solo for the first time; I had always gone with my trio before then. So although the usual musicians were in attendance, they had never really seen me play or sing before. I brought my DX-7, which really isn't that good an axe to use solo, but it was light enough for me to throw into the car easily. It seemed like it was Grateful Dead night, so I started with Crazy Fingers. Then I did an old original and another cover. No one asked me to stop after three songs but I got off the stage anyway to make room for others.

Jigg's with Evil Dick

Went up to Jigg's Corner in Butler NJ again with the trio Evil Dick. Had an unremarkable night; sort of a strange crowd in attendance. (There always seems to be a good crowd at Jigg's for the open mic.) This time I had a mic all to myself to play the tenor recorder through, and it sounded great. We had a drummer sit in and he sounded pretty good. This never happens. We will want to play with him again, perhaps.

Jigg's Corner, Butler N.J. USA

Finally went out to an open mike again! Went to Jiggs with my trio. We have gone there a number of times during the past year, but not since I started this blog. As usual, we signed up early, using a randomly chosen band name, and player 4 or 5 songs. Met a drummer and a bass player (separately), each of which expressed an interest in playing with us. So perhaps something will come of it.
